Hugh White, DVM

Dr. Hugh White grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and went to the Lovett School. He attended Hampden-Sydney College and achieved a BA in English prior to fulfilling his pre-vet curriculum. Hugh graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. He joined our practice in July of 2004, became a partner in September of 2010 and then primary owner in 2015. His hobbies include music (playing bass guitar), tennis, golf and fishing.
Hugh’s wife Martha also grew up in Atlanta and went to Marist. He and his wife have twin daughters, a son and a toy fox terrier named Zoe.
Rachel DeLoatch, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Despite moving around the country as a military kid, Rachel has always called Georgia home. After graduating from the University of Georgia with a B.S in Avian Biology, she pursued her D.V.M at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee. After graduation, Rachel practiced companion animal and exotics medicine in Covington, Georgia. She has recently moved to Atlanta and joined Treehouse Animal Clinic. Dr. DeLoatch is our only doctor that offers pet acupuncture at this time. Most recently, she got married and you will now see her as Dr. DeLoatch instead of Dr. Foy! She enjoys running, the outdoors, and spending time with friends, family, her yellow lab named Marley, and her cat named Merlin.
Judson Smith, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Judson Smith is a Boston, MA, native. After graduating with a history degree from Bates College in 2010, he spent a few years working in the financial consulting world, before deciding to switch careers into Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Judson started as a kennel tech south of Boston and would eventually graduate with high honors from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. During his time there he was active in the Student American Veterinary Medical Association and created his college’s first Wellness and Mental Health Committee. He then went on to complete an intense, specialized internship program at North Carolina State University Veterinary Hospital where he refined his love for veterinary neurology, cardiology, and internal medicine. Dr. Judson moved to the Atlanta area with his wife, who is a speech language pathologist and dance teacher. Dr. Judson is the proud father to his three young children. Outside of his passion for veterinary medicine, Dr. Judson is an avid Boston sports fan, enjoys playing hockey, cooking, reading, and spending time with his family, including his lab mix named Poti (Poh-dee).
Minami Yamada, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
I am originally from Savannah, GA and I have wanted to become a small animal veterinarian since I was 9 years old. I am a graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine class of 2023 but I received my bachelor’s degree from Georgia Tech in 2019 (Go Jackets and Dawgs!). My interests include internal medicine and practicing the best patient care possible. In my clinical year at UGA, you could often find me completing paperwork alongside my patients in their kennel. Besides my love for animals, I grew up surfing on Tybee Beach and enjoy playing guitar and exploring Atlanta with my boyfriend. I have 1 dog named Benji who I absolutely adore.
Katie Boyd, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Education: University of Georgia
Dr. Boyd is an Atlanta native that attended Lakeside High School. After graduation, she attended UGA as an undergrad receiving her BSA in both Animal Science and Biological Sciences in 2017. In 2021 she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UGA, labeling her a “Double Dawg!” She has two male tabby cat littermates, Cali and Tito, after a favorite restaurant in Athens. her hobbies include cheering on the Dawgs, walking the beltline with friends, and traveling.
Julie Duval, VMD, DACVS
Surgeon, Mobile Veterinary Specialists
Dr. Julie Duval is our MOVES veterinary soft tissue surgery partner in the Atlanta region. She is available to perform advanced soft tissue surgeries at Treehouse Animal Clinic. Dr. Duval received a bachelor of science degree from Duke University, then graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, where she completed a one-year rotating internship. She completed her surgery residency at the University of Georgia and then accepted a position as a clinical surgery instructor at the University of Pennsylvania, where Dr. Duval was involved with the training of students, interns, and residents. In 2000, she moved to Atlanta and practiced at one of the largest veterinary specialty practices in the southeast. While enjoying all aspects of soft tissue and oncologic surgery, Dr. Duval has a special interest in perineal urethrostomy, portosystemic shunts, and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Julie Duval has been married to internist Derek Duval since 1990, and they have two children. She loves reading, watching college football and basketball (especially the Duke Blue Devils), hiking, traveling, and photography. She and her husband have two dogs, a sheltie named Maisie and a schipperke named Bellatrix, as well as some pets without fur.
Derek Duval, VMD, DACVIM
Chief of Medicine, Mobile Veterinary Specialists
Dr. Derek Duval is our MOVES veterinary internal medicine partner in the Atlanta region. He is available to perform consultations and advanced internal medicine procedures at Treehouse Animal Clinic. Dr. Duval completed his undergraduate and veterinary school studies at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by his internship at the University of Georgia. After his internship, Derek joined the faculty at UGA and was the head of the Outpatient Medicine service for two years. Dr. Duval completed his small animal internal medicine residency at Penn, where he was responsible for creating and heading the outpatient endoscopy service. He also completed research and publications on immune-mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA). Dr. Duval completed his board certification in small animal internal medicine in 1997 and is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (DACVIM). Dr. Duval has a special interest in interventional endoscopy and radiology and has helped pioneer procedures such as placing tracheal and urethral stents and balloon dilation treatment for esophageal strictures. He lives in Atlanta with his wife, Dr. Julie Duval, their dogs Bella (Schipperke), and Maisie (Sheltie), and a variety of frogs, lizards, and turtles. When not practicing internal medicine, Derek is an avid home brewer and martial arts specialist. He also enjoys listening to music and participating in outdoor activities with Julie and their children.

Christy is a native of metro Atlanta and has worked in the veterinary field since 2007. She lives near the Zoo with her husband and their 2 children. They have rescued two Weimaraners, Frankie + Sully, and a Manx, Gus. She is an alumnus of Clemson University and loves photography, automotive racing and lake life. Fun fact – you can find her photography in the lobby of the clinic!

Mikayla was raised in Florida, then later moved to Atlanta about 7 years ago. Working in Veterinary Medicine has been her lifelong dream since she was only 6 years old. She later went to Tuskegee University for Animal Science, and afterward got certified as a Veterinary Assistant. After certification, she began working at an emergency veterinary hospital as a Veterinary Technician. She has been working as a Veterinary Technician for going on 4 years now and has enjoyed every moment of it. She loves all of her furry friends and looks forward to meeting yours as well.

Aubri was born and raised in ATL but spent a year in Florida then eventually moved back. She’s been working at Treehouse Animal Clinic for 3 months and claims that there has never been a dull moment. She enjoys meeting clients and giving their sweet pets hugs and kisses. Aubri currently has one dog living with her in Florida and in her free time, she enjoys reading, coloring, listening to music, and getting her nails done.

Taylor is from Michigan. She’s an animal lover and a sports fan. Taylor has a kitty of her own, Samoa. She likes long walks on the beach and cuddling for hours. Taylor has been around animals her whole life and does not plan on changing that anytime soon!

Ashley was born and raised in Florida but has been in Georgia for the past 10 years. Always a lover of animals, she has been working in the veterinary field for nine years. Ashley lives with her sassy Cheweenie – Petra! In her spare time, she enjoys playing video games, drawing, listening to music, learning silly dances (badly), and other various nerdy activities!

Born in Chicago, but raised in Tokyo and London, Hayden has kept her passion for animals throughout her different moves. She recently graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2022 and is hoping to go to Veterinary school in the next few years. When Hayden is not working, she can be found reading on the couch, travelling, or napping with her dog, Nori.

Kayla is a born and raised Georgia Peach that is a co-pet mom to five dogs and two cats. She loves adventuring, hiking, going to the lake, and all things outdoors with her dogs. She loves to capture pictures of scenery and go camping. She has always worked with animals- from kennels to breeing to a pet nutritionist, to grooming apprentice and now a receptionist at Treehouse Animal Clinic!

Hi! My name is Jordan Walker, and I am from Charleston, SC! I attended Florida A&M University and majored in Veterinary Technology. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, painting, swimming, and spending time in nature. I have one pittie named Havand and two bunnies named Ms. Piggy and Prancey, all of whom I love so much. My long-term goal is to become a mixed-practice veterinarian specializing in Equine Medicine. I am so happy to be a part of the Treehouse Animal Clinic family while continuing to grow my knowledge in the world of veterinary medicine.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Laura started working as a technician for a family friend and his partner at the age of 15. Five years later, her friend decided to open his own practice which she assisted him in doing as his head technician. She later moved to Memphis, TN, for 5 years where she assisted a veterinarian practice. While there, Laura earned an award for being ‘best technician’ in Shelby County. Laura has grown up with all kinds of pets and now has 2 cats, Buddy & Lucy. She also has a Black Belt in Karate. Laura has been working at Treehouse Animal Clinic for 6 years.

Originally from Johnson City, Tennessee, Rob moved to Atlanta in 1996. He married his wife in 1994 and has 3 daughters, 1 son, and a granddaughter. He has two dogs, Lola (Boxer Mix) and Rosie (Terrier Mix). He is a Navy Veteran and loves all sports; his favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. He loves fishing with his son and traveling with his family. He also volunteers as a mentor at the school his wife teaches.

Jada Lake is a Junior at Georgia State University, pursuing her degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. She is originally from the Virgin Islands and loves to go to the beach. Jada is terrified of bugs, so if you see someone running around the parking lot, that’s probably her running for her life.

Weekend Kennel Technician
This North Carolina native m0ved to Atlanta 3 years ago and brought her love of animals with her. When Storm isn’t at the kennel, she’s most likely snuggling her White German Shepherd, going on an adventure, learning about wolves, or utilizing her skills as a dog trainer for others. Storm boasts to always treat your pets as if they were her own.

Squash is our 3 legged house kitty. She loves to check out the dogs and cats that come into our clinic, as well as drink water from the sink! If you ever want to meet her, please ask. She’s usually just sleeping in one of the doctors’ chairs!
